About Us

The Beskyd company continues the medieval traditions of iron production in the Beskydy region. In 1826, new hammers were built, of which hammer number five, located on the site of the present company headquarters, was leased by Frýdlantská a.s. in 1908 and replaced by a modern foundry for the production of enamelled ironware. The present company Beskyd s.r.o. was founded in 1993 by privatization of the same-named operation of the original Norma.

Beskyd is engaged in the production of castings from grey and ductile cast iron. The original programme was focused on the production of cast iron tableware and sanitary ware castings, which were mostly enamelled. Nowadays the most demanded castings are grey cast iron (parts of cooling equipment and heating elements) and ductile iron sewer grates.

The annual production of castings is about 8000 tons. Seventy percent of the products are exported to most of the Central European countries. Quality is guaranteed by melting in modern electric induction furnaces. The liquid metal is poured into sand moulds prepared by a Disamatic moulding machine. The products are finished by varnishing. The models are provided by an external company. The quality of the cast iron and the sand mixture is checked in our own laboratories. Great attention is paid to the environmental impact of production. The company employs 160 people.
